This is a collection of draft manuscripts that were collected for the booklet, Washington Schools in the Good Old Days. The manuscripts are edited drafts with photographs in them of different school districts. The collection includes a letter from Mrs. Catherine Harder Peot to Mr. Louis Bruno dated July 11, 1970. Mr. Bruno was the State Superintendent of Public Instruction at the time the booklet was published. Mrs. Peot criticizes the booklet for its inaccuracies about the education system. She refutes the history portrayed and gives a description of the education system in the Kahlotus schools. There is a set of 8 x 11 inch negatives of the pamphlet titled, Souvenir [of] Consolidated School Dist. No. 45, Kahlotus, Franklin County, WA. Some of the items in the collection are original typescript and some are photocopies of the items in the collection.
